Where you find darkness, you will always find light, eventually. Never forget that you are your own healer with the support of your healing tribe. When you can move from depths of darkness to the surface of light, that is where you find the joy in life.
How We Got Started
Meet Tyler and Jessica, the souls behind The Healing Tribes. We’ve each walked our own winding path toward healing, learning from both ancient wisdom and modern science.
Our experiences have shown us that true wellness is about more than quick fixes — it’s about tuning into your own power to heal. Get to know our personal stories and see how our journeys might inspire yours.

In 2010, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with labyrinthitis. The intense vertigo I experienced was debilitating and terrifying, and for the first time, I was forced to slow down and truly listen to my body. This experience marked the beginning of what would become a deeply transformative healing journey — one that led me to explore and embrace holistic modalities I had never considered before.
Over the years, I continued to live with unresolved emotional wounds and trauma, pushing through life without fully addressing the toll it was taking on my mind, body, and spirit. Then, in July 2022, everything came to a head. I experienced a complete burnout — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I thought I was having a stroke but when the ambulance came, they said it was likely a panic attack. This had never happened to me before. It was a breaking point, but also a breakthrough. I made the conscious choice to commit to deep healing: reconnecting with my inner self, prioritizing self-care (despite my demanding job as a business owner and publicist), and immersing myself in ancient holistic practices that offered true nourishment and restoration.
And then, something miraculous happened.
In April 2023 — exactly nine months after my decision to heal — I found out I was pregnant. After years of struggling with unexplained infertility (seven to be exact) along with a devastating miscarriage and feeling like that dream may never become reality, this moment felt like a divine affirmation. It was as though my body, once in survival mode, finally felt safe enough to create life. I was no longer in fight or flight every hour of the day.
This journey not only transformed me as a person and a mother — it lit a fire within me. From the depths of a mental health crisis to the miracle of pregnancy and a truly transcendent birth, I felt like a phoenix rising from the ashes. I owe that transformation to the tribe of healers who supported me every step of the way — a tribe I still hold close to my heart. I should also note that I have modern medicine to also thank for this journey. It was a blessed union. I like to think that the modern doctors I have chosen also have a sense of ancient healing wisdom inside them, despite their medical degrees.
I founded The Healing Tribes with the vision of creating a safe, supportive space where others could access the wisdom, tools, and community they need for their own healing. A place where they could build their own healing tribe. I believe that healing is not meant to be done in isolation. We all deserve a tribe — a circle of healers, guides, and kindred spirits walking alongside us.

In 2025, I made a decision that would change the course of my life: I committed to my health. For too many years, I wasn’t feeling my best, and I knew something needed to shift. Over the course of the year, I lost more than 85 pounds by making food my medicine, embracing a daily workout routine, and rediscovering the power of moving my body outdoors. Peloton classes, yoga (even trapeze yoga!), long walks, and the simple act of hitting 10,000 steps a day — often thanks to my Labrador retriever, Hudson — became not just exercise, but healing rituals. The more I moved, the more I reconnected with myself. My sleep improved, my energy soared, and even the smallest moments with family, friends, and my partner felt richer and more joyful.
Growing up in Vermont, I’ve always loved being outdoors, but this journey brought me back to that connection in a new and deeply meaningful way. Exercise and time in nature gave me space to reflect, focus on my goals, and find clarity. Along the way, I also discovered new practices like immersive salt float baths — moments of stillness that allowed me to embrace peace and listen to my thoughts more deeply.
Through this journey, I came to believe that healing is not one-size-fits-all. Each of us is walking our own path, shaped by our history, our environment, and the tools we discover along the way. For some, it might be movement. For others, meditation, community, or even music — which I’ve always found to be a powerful force for shaping emotions and lifting spirits. What matters most is trying, exploring, and finding what allows us to grow both inside and out.
That belief is what inspired me, alongside a dear friend, to co-found The Healing Tribes: a community built to help others find their own unique paths to wisdom, healing, and growth. Because healing isn’t meant to happen in isolation — it’s meant to happen in connection, surrounded by a tribe of supportive, like-minded souls.
I share my story in the hope that someone reading it will feel a spark of recognition or inspiration. If I can encourage even one person to take their first step toward healing — whatever that looks like for them — then my journey has come full circle.
